2021 is a holy jubilee year which happens when the Apostle Santiago’s day (the 25th of July) falls on a Sunday. The tradition started in 1122 when the last stone was placed on the Santiago Cathedral and Pope Calixto II declared you would receive the same blessings on the arrival to Santiago as you would when you arrive to Rome during a holy year or Año Xacobeo. It only happens every now and then, but since the Middle Ages if you do the Camino de Santiago in a San Xacobeo year, it is said that all your sins will be wiped clean.

Galicia Máxica is Galician for Galicia Magic in English. Galicia is the most magical, mystical, superstitious place I have ever been. There are countless stories about mermaids, fairies, witches, healers, gypsies, elves and earthly goddesses, I studied a lot of their folklores for my fashion thesis and they really captivate your imagination, it must be their Celtic heritage. When you’re walking through the forests on the Camino you can see how the landscape evokes all that mythology too, you can perfectly imagine a fairy or an elf appearing out of the lush foliage to say hello. You even hear of pilgrims who are especially doing El Camino in search of magic and witches, I love that they never let that child inside of us flicker out.

La Concha de Peregrino is known as the Pilgrim Shell which marks the way on all the routes of the Camino to Santiago. There are many theories of how this shell became the symbol of el Camino de Santiago but in the Middle Ages upon arrival to Santiago de Compostela when the pilgrims received their certificates, they were given a scallop shell to put on their hat or cape as a tribute to the Apostle Santiago. Nowadays you see them everywhere, pilgrims hang them off their backpacks and in Galicia there are homes and even a church on Isla de la Toja completely covered in them. They’re also in a abundance at every restaurant along the way and they’re some of the best in the world, especially with a glass of Godello or Albariño white wine to go with them.

The crochet hydrangeas were lovingly handmade stitch by stitch by Charo, a Galician artisan who is my friend’s mum. While studying fashion design at IED in Madrid I would go stay at their place in Galicia on holidays and they showed me hospitality like no other. They cooked me amazing meals, showed me amazing places, helped me with my fashion thesis, made me fall in love with Galicia and sent me back to Madrid with amazing Galician treats. They’re creative women of many talents keeping artisan fashion alive and have enormous hearts, it was so special to be able to collaborate with them on these special earrings.
Hortensias (hydrangeas in Spanish) are found all throughout Galicia in abundance. They’re one of Galicia’s icons, every garden has them in every colour and I found blue ones growing wild along streams and in forests while walking the camino. Every little delicate flower laces into the next to create their big balloons of colour. They transport me back to Galicia every time I see one.

El Camino de Santiago first started in the 9th Century and pilgrims were guided by the stars, they also kept them company, like shepherds in the night. So much so that the pilgrimage is also known as the Milky Way Camino. While researching I discovered that Compostela from the city’s name, Santiago Compostela in Latin actually means a field of stars, a special place close to the sea, where for centuries man has marvelled at the night sky and pondered over things much greater than ourselves.

Morriña means homesickness in Spanish which actually comes from the Galician language. I always hear Galician emigrants talking about Morriña, their ties to their stunning, mystical homeland, culture and particularly the ocean runs deep in their veins. I learned this beautiful word from one of my best friends that I studied fashion design with here in Madrid, she would often show up for class sad saying she needed to see the sea, I loved her passion for her homeland. I related perfectly to her homesickness as I have suffered from it from the age of 11 when I left our family property in Outback Queensland to go to boarding school. All these years later, even after selling our family property, I still get stung with homesickness for those infinite Outback horizons, it shows that my once inland sea homeland runs in my veins too.

These earrings are inspired by the Festival de los Patios Cordobeses, a UNESCO World Heritage Listed annual festival in May when locals open up their colourful courtyards to the public. Due to the hot, dry Cordobán climate, the Romans and later the Muslims, designed their homes to centre around an inner courtyard, usually with a fountain and often a well to collect rainwater to water their plants draping down the walls. Today this vibrant festival flows out of the courtyards and onto the streets and is enjoyed by everybody, gardener or not.

La Mezquita is Córdoba’s shining jewel, a fusion of two cultures, it is really something amazing to see in today’s world. Half mosque, half Catholic Church and still today, Catholics and Muslims pray under the very same roof under it’s beautiful red and white striped arches. After changing hands from the Romans to the Moors to the Christians, something quite remarkable unfolded. The Christians built their church inside the mosque to hide it from the Moors if they came back to attack again one day.

These headbands are inspired by the UNESCO World Heritage listed La Medina Azahara, which are the ruins of a vast, fortified Andalus palace-city built in the 10th Century serving as the capital of the region al-Andalus for the Caliphate of Córdoba. It was a symbol of it’s Caliph Abd-ar-Rahman III’s power and legend says it was built as a tribute for his favourite wife, Azahara. For over 800 years the Moors ruled a large part of Spain and didn’t just bring amazing architecture, they brought with them a wealth of culinary products, their beautiful Arabian horses, public libraries, astronomy, science, mathematics, geography and philosophy.

Los Farolillos are distinct colourful little paper lanterns that line the ceilings of the marquees and the streets of the Royal Precinct where la Feria de Abril is celebrated in Seville every year. They are now typical decorations at all of the Ferias around Spain but they were introduced by the painter Gustavo Bacarisas in 1887 when the organisation contracted him to unify the aesthetics of the different casetas (the little marquees). The famous Sevillana songUn cielo de farolilloscaptures beautifully the ambiance these decorations create. Their warm glow is like a scene out of a Woody Allen film if he were ever to do one set in southern Spain.

These earrings are inspired by Circulo de Bellas Artes which is Madrid´s most prestigous arts school and centre. It was the first rooftop that I saw Madrid from above for the first time. I had never been to Madrid before I moved here, and I was so busy learning Spanish and preparing to study that it wasn´t love at first sight. Madrid one me over with little discoveries like this one one after the other. On top of one of Spain´s most revered art schools you have 360 degree views of Madrid´s skyline. Nowadays there is a bar and restaurant up there, one of my favourite sunset spots in town and one of my nostalgic places of Madrid´s and my love story!

These earrings are inspired by the Festival de los Patios Cordobeses, a UNESCO World Heritage Listed annual festival in May when locals open up their colourful courtyards to the public. Due to the hot, dry Cordobán climate, the Romans and later the Muslims, designed their homes to centre around an inner courtyard, usually with a fountain and often a well to collect rainwater to water their plants draping down the walls. Today this vibrant festival flows out of the courtyards and onto the streets and is enjoyed by everybody, gardener or not.

San Isidro is Madrid´s city saint and the city bursts into a week long party every Spring to celebrate. Everyone, young and old dress up in Madrid´s traditional dress and hit the streets dancing Chotis (traditional dances from Madrid). The city is a sea of women wearing the red Carantions in their hair. But whatever woo-woo story you want to believe there is something special about watching a sunset from one of Ibiza´s coves or cliffs over this powerful rock, it mysteriously lifts your spirits and recharges you, making it a sunset you will never forget.
Zamak is an alloy blend of zinc, aluminium, magnesium and copper which makes it suitable for sensitive skin types, very durable and great for silver and gold plating. Tanit is the Carthaginian goddess who has been worshiped on Ibiza since the Carthaginians settled there around 600BC. She is the deity of the moon, dance, creation, sexuality, fertility and war and even today thousands of people visit the Es Culleram Cave to pay their respects to her as the island´s inhabitants have been doing since ancient times. She is often depicted naked riding a lion or with her own lion´s mane. Many of the island´s visitors will tell you about Ibiza´s incredible energy and I felt it day in day out when I lived there for the Summer of 2009, there is so much more to this magical island than the nightlife.

Limited edition, small, medium or large sterling silver sleepers made in Italy, plated in 2 lucious microns of 18k gold or varnished sterling silver. They have a lever system for pierced ears only. The small size measure 2cm in diameter each earring weighs 1.5 grams. The medium size measure 2.5cm in diameter and each earrings weighs 1.7grams. The large size measure 3cm in diameter and each earrings weighs 2.2grams. You can mix and match with the freshwater pearl add on adornments that you can slip on and off, (please note you have to buy the pearl adornments individually, they don´t come in pairs, only the sleepers do). Dalt Vila is Ibiza´s fortified old town surrounding the Castle. When I lived in Ibiza for the Summer of 2009 I spent many days and evenings exploring the labyrinth of tiny, twisting cobblestone streets amongst the bougainvillea covered white Ibicencan houses. Every time I went I would discover a new nook with a quaint shop, bar or restaurant to stop for a wine or a coffee and study Spanish or read. One evening I came across a shop inside one of the white houses run by the most fascinating hippie couple. They sold their art and all sorts of treasures. I bought a ceramic figure on a necklace that they explained was one of Ibiza´s ancient gods. It was then I realised the extent of the history of Ibiza and why it has a special vibe. Today I still have it in my shrine of trinkets to remind me of that Summer. Dalt Vila was established as early as the 7th century BC by the Carthaginians and was one of the Mediterranean´s most important cities trading delicacies, fish, salt, silver and gold. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site and literally an outdoor museum.

This necklace is inspired the classic beautiful Italian women in silk headscarves whizzing by on a Vespa along the coastline in the 80´s. Although intense, I love how the Italians celebrate beauty through languauge. I guess that´s why I love Argentina so much, the firey combo of Italian and Spanish blood.

A Caseta is the colourful little marquee that each Sevillan family sets up and decorates to celebrate la Feria de Abril. Many families spend a small fortune on their Caseta and their friends and family every year; they have their own waitstaff, bar, catering dance floors and music. Traditionally they were for sealing deals on buying and selling stock but as the Feria has evolved into a social event they became more lively. In saying that, speaking to some Sevillanos whose Caseta I was invited to, said they still do quite a bit of business throughout the Feria inviting clients to their Casetas too. Seville’s Feria is known for being very prestigious as there are only a handful of public Casetas but if you go to the Ferias in Córdoba, Jerez and Malaga there are many public Casetas.

El Real is the precinct where la Feria de Abril is held in Seville - Kind of like your typical country town show grounds. It’s perfectly manicured, compacted yellow gravel, typical from the south of Spain is covered in perfectly decorated marquees creating perfect little streets with rows and rows of little lanterns (farolillos) dancing above in the blue sky by day and by night. Every year it turns into a magical Flamenco wonderland for an entire week.

These earrings are inspired by the Festival de los Patios Cordobeses, a UNESCO World Heritage Listed annual festival in May when locals open up their colourful courtyards to the public. Due to the hot, dry Cordoban climate, the Romans and later the Muslims, designed their homes to centre around an inner courtyard, usually with a fountain and often a well to collect rainwater to water their plants draping down the walls. Today this vibrant festival flows out of the courtyards and onto the streets and is enjoyed by everybody, gardener or not.

Los Farolillos are distinct colourful little paper lanterns that line the ceilings of the marquees and the streets of the Royal Precinct where la Feria de Abril is celebrated in Seville every year. They are now typical decorations at all of the Ferias around Spain but they were introduced by the painter Gustavo Bacarisas in 1887 when the organisation contracted him to unify the aesthetics of the different casetas (the little marquees). The famous Sevillana songUn cielo de farolilloscaptures beautifully the ambiance these decorations create. Their warm glow is like a scene out of a Woody Allen film if he were ever to do one set in southern Spain.

La Portada is a giant intricate installation inspired by buildings from around the city that quite often look a lot like a church or a palace that serves as the main entrance to la Feria. Every year a new one is designed and built with incredible lighting at night. The night before la Feria de Abril starts everyone gathers at the Portada for the Alumbrao. When the clock strikes midnight the hundreds of thousands of lights on the Portada and through all the precinct’s little streets light up to celebrate the official start of La Feria. It sure beats New Years Eve and just two weeks after La Semana Santa (a sombre week of relinquishing their sins with long painful processions throughout Easter) the city is reborn! Everyone, young and old dress up in Madrid´s traditional dress and hit the streets dancing Chotis (traditional dances from Madrid). The city is a sea of women wearing the red Carantions in their hair. Traditionally how you placed and how many you placed on your head indicated if you were single, engaged, married or widowed… a flower language!

Es Vedrâ is a mysterious, magical island just off the western side of Ibiza. There are many myths surrounding the rock from it being the third most magnetic points on the planet, to the Bermuda triangle of the Mediterranean, to the home to the Sirens of Greek mythology, to the birthplace of the Phoenician goddess Tanit. But whatever woo-woo story you want to believe there is something special about watching a sunset from one of Ibiza´s coves or cliffs over this powerful rock, it mysteriously lifts your spirits and recharges you, making it a sunset you will never forget.

Es Vedrâ is a mysterious, magical island just off the western side of Ibiza. There are many myths surrounding the rock from it being the third most magnetic point on the planet, to the Bermuda triangle of the Mediterranean, to the home to the Sirens of Greek mythology, to the birthplace of the Phoenician goddess Tanit. But whatever woo-woo story you want to believe there is something special about watching a sunset from one of Ibiza´s coves or cliffs over this powerful rock, it mysteriously lifts your spirits and recharges you, making it a sunset you will never forget.
Zamak is an alloy blend of zinc, aluminium, magnesium and copper which makes it suitable for sensitive skin types, very durable and great for silver and gold plating. These earring bases were made to order on the beautiful Belearic Island of Menorca by a family run studio that started back in 1945. The 2 micron 18k gold and sterling silver plating is done by another long standing Spanish family business from Cordoba. I like to keep my designs as Spanish and local as possible.

Tanit is the Carthaginian goddess who has been worshiped on Ibiza since the Carthaginians settled there around 600BC. She is the deity of the moon, dance, creation, sexuality, fertility and war and even today thousands of people visit the Es Culleram Cave to pay their respects to her as the island´s inhabitants have been doing since ancient times. She is often depicted naked riding a lion or with her own lion´s mane. Many of the island´s visitors will tell you about Ibiza´s incredible energy and I felt it day in day out when I lived there for the Summer of 2009, there is so much more to this magical island than the nightlife.

The small size measure 2cm in diameter each earring weighs 1.5 grams. The medium size measure 2.5cm in diameter and each earrings weighs 1.7grams. The large size measure 3cm in diameter and each earrings weighs 2.2grams. You can mix and match with the freshwater pearl add on adornments that you can slip on and off, (please note you have to buy the pearl adornments individually, they don´t come in pairs, only the sleepers do). Dalt Vila is Ibiza´s fortified old town surrounding the Castle. When I lived in Ibiza for the Summer of 2009 I spent many days and evenings exploring the labyrinth of tiny, twisting cobblestone streets amongst the bougainvillea covered white Ibicencan houses. Every time I went I would discover a new nook with a quaint shop, bar or restaurant to stop for a wine or a coffee and study Spanish or read. One evening I came across a shop inside one of the white houses run by the most fascinating hippie couple. They sold their art and all sorts of treasures. I bought a ceramic figure on a necklace that they explained was one of Ibiza´s ancient gods. It was then I realised the extent of the history of Ibiza and why it has a special vibe. Today I still have it in my shrine of trinkets to remind me of that Summer. Dalt Vila was established as early as the 7th century BC by the Carthaginians and was one of the Mediterranean´s most important cities trading delicacies, fish, salt, silver and gold. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site and literally an outdoor museum.

El Real is the precinct where la Feria de Abril is held in Seville - Kind of like your typical country town show grounds. It’s perfectly manicured, compacted yellow gravel, typical from the south of Spain is covered in perfectly decorated marquees creating perfect little streets with rows and rows of little lanterns (farolillos) dancing above in the blue sky by day and by night. Every year it turns into a magical Flamenco wonderland for an entire week.

These earrings are inspired by the Festival de los Patios Cordobeses, a UNESCO World Heritage Listed annual festival in May when locals open up their colourful courtyards to the public. Due to the hot, dry Cordoban climate, the Romans and later the Muslims, designed their homes to centre around an inner courtyard, usually with a fountain and often a well to collect rainwater to water their plants draping down the walls. Today this vibrant festival flows out of the courtyards and onto the streets and is enjoyed by everybody, gardener or not.

Ibiza`s Castle, or Castell d'Eivissa in the local Catalan dialect, is up high looking down on the old fortified town Dalt Vila. Most of the castle dates back to the 16th century but excavations have found its foundations go back to the 12th Century. The Castle towers over the Mediterranean, it was once the perfect vantage point to see if an enemy was approaching, particularly pirates. In 2002 a room which had an exit to the old town was discovered. It was full of pottery, weapons and other objects from Phoenician times right up to the 13th Century. It gave historians a great insight into life on Ibiza in her early days.

Cala d´Hort is one of my favourite lunch spots overlooking the magical rocky island Es Vedrà. The cove has red cliffs that drop off into turquoise blue waters and figs grow on the edge of the beach where I love to long lunch with a bottle of Albariño and a Paella. It´s one of my favourite spots in the world. A dip and a siesta on the beach after lunch is a must, along with a climb up the cliffs to watch the sunset to finish a perfect day.

San Sebastian is a foodie´s heaven, the seas of Pintxos covering every bartop is a feast for the senses. I have had a lot of foodie firsts there over the years but my most memorable was trying sea urchins. They were sweet and salty and their shells seem like a perfect piece of mother nature´s art. The crochet hydrangeas were lovingly handmade stitch by stitch by Charo, a Galician artisan who is my friend’s mum. While studying fashion design at IED in Madrid I would go stay at their place in Galicia on holidays and they showed me hospitality like no other. They cooked me amazing meals, showed me amazing places, helped me with my fashion thesis, made me fall in love with Galicia and sent me back to Madrid with amazing Galician treats. They’re creative women of many talents keeping artisan fashion alive and have enormous hearts, it was so special to be able to collaborate with them on these special earrings.
Hortensias (hydrangeas in Spanish) are found all throughout Galicia in abundance. They’re one of Galicia’s icons, every garden has them in every colour and I found blue ones growing wild along streams and in forests while walking the camino. Every little delicate flower laces into the next to create their big balloons of colour. They transport me back to Galicia every time I see one.

El Camino de Santiago first started in the 9th Century and pilgrims were guided by the stars, they also kept them company, like shepherds in the night. So much so that the pilgrimage is also known as the Milky Way Camino. While researching I discovered that Compostela from the city’s name, Santiago Compostela in Latin actually means a field of stars, a special place close to the sea, where for centuries man has marvelled at the night sky and pondered over things much greater than ourselves.

The Flamenco dress is probably the most famous icon of Spain, yet its origins are very humble - They came from the typical gypsy outfit. It is said that the gypsy women working in their beautiful frills with the stock at the Feria (when it was just a stock sale) were admired by wealthier women attending the Feria who started to adapt it for themselves. Today most Flamenco dresses are custom made and can cost thousands of euros. It’s the only living, breathing, evolving traditional dress that has it’s very own fashion week. Every year the incredible array of Flamenco designers mark the trends for the year in their parades at the Flamenco Fashion Week in Seville and everyone attending La Feria de Abril gets a new dress made or adjusts an old one to make sure that it is on trend. It’s the most beautiful fashion eco-system there is.

These crowns are inspired by La Judería, a quaint medieval labyrinth of small dead end streets known as the Jewish Quarter in Córdoba. It was in this UNESCO World Heritage listed area that the Jews lived between the 10th and 15th centuries. In this period of time three peoples; Christians, Jewish and Muslim and their respective religions lived together, imagine that!

San Isidro is Madrid´s city saint and the city bursts into a week long party every Spring to celebrate. Everyone, young and old dress up in Madrid´s traditional dress and hit the streets dancing Chotis (traditional dances from Madrid). The city is a sea of women wearing the red Carantions in their hair. Traditionally how you placed and how many you placed on your head indicated if you were single, engaged, married or widowed… a flower language!

La Feria in Spain are southern week long celebrations when the entire town/city gets dressed up in suits and Flamenco dresses, take their horses and carts to the Feria grounds (similar to our showgrounds) and dances the days away in marquees drinking sherry.

La Ibicenca is “an Ibizan woman” and something I can only dream of being! I am convinced I was a hippie in a former life, I´m sure I´ve danced across the island´s terracotta soil before. Ibiza became a favourite spot for hippies years ago and with them they brought peace, love and happiness which vibrates throughout the island, no wonder no one ever wants to leave.

Galicia Máxica is Galician for Galicia Magic in English. Galicia is the most magical, mystical, superstitious place I have ever been. There are countless stories about mermaids, fairies, witches, healers, gypsies, elves and earthly goddesses, I studied a lot of their folklores for my fashion thesis and they really captivate your imagination, it must be their Celtic heritage. When you’re walking through the forests on the Camino you can see how the landscape evokes all that mythology too, you can perfectly imagine a fairy or an elf appearing out of the lush foliage to say hello. You even hear of pilgrims who are especially doing El Camino in search of magic and witches, I love that they never let that child inside of us flicker out.

Donostia is the name of San Sesbastian in Euskera (Basque language). It was founded in 1180 where the Old Quarter is today. The city walls fended off invaders for centuries - except for Napoleón who destroyed most of the city until the Anglo-Portuguese drove him out. 31 de Agosto Kalea, a street in the old town was named in memory of this defeat but today it´s one of Spain´s best eat streets packed with bars serving happy customers exotic pintxos, txakoli and cider.

In every town and city, big or small, Spain celebrates their las Fiestas “summer parties” for a week at some point over the summer with quintessential traditions, side show alleys, a Spanish version of a homecoming queen, a piñata but with terracotta pots and a dance with live music in the main plaza strung up with fairy lights and bunting at night. These headbands are inspired by the UNESCO World Heritage listed La Medina Azahara, which are the ruins of a vast, fortified Andalus palace-city built in the 10th Century serving as the capital of the region al-Andalus for the Caliphate of Córdoba. It was a symbol of it’s Caliph Abd-ar-Rahman III’s power and legend says it was built as a tribute for his favourite wife, Azahara. For over 800 years the Moors ruled a large part of Spain and didn’t just bring amazing architecture, they brought with them a wealth of culinary products, their beautiful Arabian horses, public libraries, astronomy, science, mathematics, geography and philosophy.

Tui is a gorgeous town right on the border of Portugal and Galicia where we started the Portuguese route of el Camino de Santiago. It was settled back in pre historic times and its winding quaint stone streets are overflowing with Hydrangeas and relics. The border with Portugal is marked by el Río Miño, a mighty river perfect for a swim whose banks are lined with vineyards. You can stroll across its beautiful bridge to the Portuguese town Valença, which dates back to Roman times protected by a fort. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy my favourite Portuguese beer, Super Bock or a local white wine at sunset. It’s here many pilgrims start their journey to Santiago, the town is buzzing with excitement and anticipation to the journey ahead.

A Caseta is the colourful little marquee that each Sevillan family sets up and decorates to celebrate la Feria de Abril. Many families spend a small fortune on their Caseta and their friends and family every year; they have their own waitstaff, bar, catering dance floors and music. Traditionally they were for sealing deals on buying and selling stock but as the Feria has evolved into a social event they became more lively. In saying that, speaking to some Sevillanos whose Caseta I was invited to, said they still do quite a bit of business throughout the Feria inviting clients to their Casetas too. Seville’s Feria is known for being very prestigious as there are only a handful of public Casetas but if you go to the Ferias in Córdoba, Jerez and Malaga there are many public Casetas.

It was emotional and exciting to arrive to Santiago, but when you get there, you realise your destination wasn’t the most important part, it was your journey of all the little stamps in between that you treasure forever and isn’t that life summed up beautifully?

The crochet hydrangeas were lovingly handmade stitch by stitch by Charo, a Galician artisan who is my friend’s mum. While studying fashion design at IED in Madrid I would go stay at their place in Galicia on holidays and they showed me hospitality like no other. They cooked me amazing meals, showed me amazing places, helped me with my fashion thesis, made me fall in love with Galicia and sent me back to Madrid with amazing Galician treats. They’re creative women of many talents keeping artisan fashion alive and have enormous hearts, it was so special to be able to collaborate with them on these special earrings.
Hortensias (hydrangeas in Spanish) are found all throughout Galicia in abundance. They’re one of Galicia’s icons, every garden has them in every colour and I found blue ones growing wild along streams and in forests while walking the camino. Every little delicate flower laces into the next to create their big balloons of colour. They transport me back to Galicia every time I see one.

El Camino de Santiago first started in the 9th Century and pilgrims were guided by the stars, they also kept them company, like shepherds in the night. So much so that the pilgrimage is also known as the Milky Way Camino. While researching I discovered that Compostela from the city’s name, Santiago Compostela in Latin actually means a field of stars, a special place close to the sea, where for centuries man has marvelled at the night sky and pondered over things much greater than ourselves.

Morriña means homesickness in Spanish which actually comes from the Galician language. I always hear Galician emigrants talking about Morriña, their ties to their stunning, mystical homeland, culture and particularly the ocean runs deep in their veins. I learned this beautiful word from one of my best friends that I studied fashion design with here in Madrid, she would often show up for class sad saying she needed to see the sea, I loved her passion for her homeland. I related perfectly to her homesickness as I have suffered from it from the age of 11 when I left our family property in Outback Queensland to go to boarding school. All these years later, even after selling our family property, I still get stung with homesickness for those infinite Outback horizons, it shows that my once inland sea homeland runs in my veins too.

Los Farolillos are distinct colourful little paper lanterns that line the ceilings of the marquees and the streets of the Royal Precinct where la Feria de Abril is celebrated in Seville every year. They are now typical decorations at all of the Ferias around Spain but they were introduced by the painter Gustavo Bacarisas in 1887 when the organisation contracted him to unify the aesthetics of the different casetas (the little marquees). The famous Sevillana songUn cielo de farolilloscaptures beautifully the ambiance these decorations create. Their warm glow is like a scene out of a Woody Allen film if he were ever to do one set in southern Spain.

La Portada is a giant intricate installation inspired by buildings from around the city that quite often look a lot like a church or a palace that serves as the main entrance to la Feria. Every year a new one is designed and built with incredible lighting at night. The night before la Feria de Abril starts everyone gathers at the Portada for the Alumbrao. When the clock strikes midnight the hundreds of thousands of lights on the Portada and through all the precinct’s little streets light up to celebrate the official start of La Feria. It sure beats New Years Eve and just two weeks after La Semana Santa (a sombre week of relinquishing their sins with long painful processions throughout Easter) the city is reborn! These gorgeous ceramics are handmade by a family business from Cantania in Sicily which the young sons have started taken over with lots of fresh, fun ideas. When I went to visit them the whole family was there, their son´s dog, their cousins and papá. Their mum ran out to get gelato for everyone, it reminded me of my similarly sweaty India days when I would drink 10 Chai Teas a day visiting craftsmen and suppliers. I love how welcome they made me feel.
This necklace is inspired the classic beautiful Italian women in silk headscarves whizzing by on a Vespa along the coastline in the 80´s. Although intense, I love how the Italians celebrate beauty through languauge. I guess that´s why I love Argentina so much, the firey combo of Italian and Spanish blood.

A Caseta is the colourful little marquee that each Sevillan family sets up and decorates to celebrate la Feria de Abril. Many families spend a small fortune on their Caseta and their friends and family every year; they have their own waitstaff, bar, catering dance floors and music. Traditionally they were for sealing deals on buying and selling stock but as the Feria has evolved into a social event they became more lively. In saying that, speaking to some Sevillanos whose Caseta I was invited to, said they still do quite a bit of business throughout the Feria inviting clients to their Casetas too. Seville’s Feria is known for being very prestigious as there are only a handful of public Casetas but if you go to the Ferias in Córdoba, Jerez and Malaga there are many public Casetas.

La Mezquita is Córdoba’s shining jewel, a fusion of two cultures, it is really something amazing to see in today’s world. Half mosque, half Catholic Church and still today, Catholics and Muslims pray under the very same roof under it’s beautiful red and white striped arches. After changing hands from the Romans to the Moors to the Christians, something quite remarkable unfolded. The Christians built their church inside the mosque to hide it from the Moors if they came back to attack again one day.

El Real is the precinct where la Feria de Abril is held in Seville - Kind of like your typical country town show grounds. It’s perfectly manicured, compacted yellow gravel, typical from the south of Spain is covered in perfectly decorated marquees creating perfect little streets with rows and rows of little lanterns (farolillos) dancing above in the blue sky by day and by night. Every year it turns into a magical Flamenco wonderland for an entire week.

Cala d´Hort is one of my favourite lunch spots overlooking the magical rocky island Es Vedrà. The cove has red cliffs that drop off into turquoise blue waters and figs grow on the edge of the beach where I love to long lunch with a bottle of Albariño and a Paella. It´s one of my favourite spots in the world. A dip and a siesta on the beach after lunch is a must, along with a climb up the cliffs to watch the sunset to finish a perfect day.

To get your Camino certificate when you arrive to Santiago, you have to show them all the stamps of all the places you have been to along the way. I’m going to frame my “Camino Passport” because it’s a nice reminder that the most important part is to enjoy and live every step of the way. It was emotional and exciting to arrive to Santiago, but when you get there, you realise your goals and destination weren’t the most important thing, it was your journey of all the little stamps in between that you treasure forever and isn’t that life summed up beautifully?

2021 is a holy jubilee year which happens when the Apostle Santiago’s day (the 25th of July) falls on a Sunday. The tradition started in 1122 when the last stone was placed on the Santiago Cathedral and Pope Calixto II declared you would receive the same blessings on the arrival to Santiago as you would when you arrive to Rome during a holy year or Año Xacobeo. It only happens every now and then, but since the Middle Ages if you do the Camino de Santiago in a San Xacobeo year, it is said that all your sins will be wiped clean.

La Concha de Peregrino is known as the Pilgrim Shell which marks the way on all the routes of the Camino to Santiago. There are many theories of how this shell became the symbol of el Camino de Santiago but in the Middle Ages upon arrival to Santiago de Compostela when the pilgrims received their certificates, they were given a scallop shell to put on their hat or cape as a tribute to the Apostle Santiago. Nowadays you see them everywhere, pilgrims hang them off their backpacks and in Galicia there are homes and even a church on Isla de la Toja completely covered in them. They’re also in a abundance at every restaurant along the way and they’re some of the best in the world, especially with a glass of Godello or Albariño white wine to go with them.

The Metropolis necklace is inspired by my all time favourite building in Madrid which sits right next to the start of Gran Via, Madrid´s main street that divides the old town. Designed by French architects and built in 1907 it´s quite a new building in the scheme of things, but I´ve always adored the gold trimming with a bright blue sky backdrop and what I thought was a bronze angel. It turns out it´s actually winged victory aka the goddess Nike looking out over the city.

Itsas Izar means Starfish in Euskadi, aka Basque language. The Basques are profoundly connected to the sea and have always had salty sealegs. They´re fierce about preserving their history, culture and the beautiful ecosystem they have. If you visit the neighbouring village to San Sebastian, Pasajes you can see them reconstructing a 16th Century Ship that was the first type of ship to sail to the newly discovered lands of South America, it really is a wonder.

My Sicilian dream purchase (apart from an apartment by the sea) is a pair of Siclian head pots. The Sicilian Heads, or in Italian Teste di Moro (Moor’s Heads), are iconic ceramic vases born from an 11th-century legend of passion, betrayal and revenge during Arab rule in Palermo. The story goes that a young Sicilian girl fell in love with an Arab who she then decapitated after discovering he had a family back East. She used his head as a pot to grow basil so that he would never leave her.

Puerta del Sol is the heart of Madrid, they say New York never sleeps but it doesn´t have anything on Madrid. You can find all sorts of people streaming through this plaza at any hour of the day on any day of the year. Txakoli is one of my favourite white wines, it tastes like the aftermath of a wave crashing with its light bubbles. It´s a local grape that grows on the green rolling hills behind San Sebastian´s coastline. Records of its trade date back to the 16th Century. There´s nothing better than a Txakoli and some Pintxos after a swim.

These earrings are inspired by the Festival de los Patios Cordobeses, a UNESCO World Heritage Listed annual festival in May when locals open up their colourful courtyards to the public. Due to the hot, dry Cordobán climate, the Romans and later the Muslims, designed their homes to centre around an inner courtyard, usually with a fountain and often a well to collect rainwater to water their plants draping down the walls. Today this vibrant festival flows out of the courtyards and onto the streets and is enjoyed by everybody, gardener or not.

Es Vedrâ is a mysterious, magical island just off the western side of Ibiza. There are many myths surrounding the rock from it being the third most magnetic point on the planet, to the Bermuda triangle of the Mediterranean, to the home to the Sirens of Greek mythology, to the birthplace of the Phoenician goddess Tanit. But whatever woo-woo story you want to believe there is something special about watching a sunset from one of Ibiza´s coves or cliffs over this powerful rock, it mysteriously lifts your spirits and recharges you, making it a sunset you will never forget.

Tanit is the Carthaginian goddess who has been worshiped on Ibiza since the Carthaginians settled there around 600BC. She is the deity of the moon, dance, creation, sexuality, fertility and war and even today thousands of people visit the Es Culleram Cave to pay their respects to her as the island´s inhabitants have been doing since ancient times. She is often depicted naked riding a lion or with her own lion´s mane. Many of the island´s visitors will tell you about Ibiza´s incredible energy and I felt it day in day out when I lived there for the Summer of 2009, there is so much more to this magical island than the nightlife.

These sleepers are inspired by Madrid´s Royal Palace, the largest in Occidental Europe with 3, 418 rooms. It was built on top of the site of the old Muslim Alcazar after it burned down and it took 17 years to complete. Apparently the the royal family had a different palace for each season and they resided in this one in Autumn. Nowadays the palace is open to the public and only used for official events. The gardens around the palace are some of my favourite places to sit and watch the world go by with friends as the sun lights up the sky at sunset. You feel more like you are on the edge of the world overlooking Casa del Campo there (a nature reserve).

La Feria in Spain are southern week long celebrations when the entire town/city gets dressed up in suits and Flamenco dresses, take their horses and carts to the Feria grounds (similar to our showgrounds) and dances the days away in marquees drinking sherry.

Galicia Máxica is Galician for Galicia Magic in English. Galicia is the most magical, mystical, superstitious place I have ever been. There are countless stories about mermaids, fairies, witches, healers, gypsies, elves and earthly goddesses, I studied a lot of their folklores for my fashion thesis and they really captivate your imagination, it must be their Celtic heritage. When you’re walking through the forests on the Camino you can see how the landscape evokes all that mythology too, you can perfectly imagine a fairy or an elf appearing out of the lush foliage to say hello. You even hear of pilgrims who are especially doing El Camino in search of magic and witches, I love that they never let that child inside of us flicker out.

These earrings are inspired by the Royal Stables of Córdoba, built at the end of the 16th Century by King Felipe II. It was here the Spanish horse breed was officially formalised with strict breeding guidelines as what we know today as the Caballo Andaluz.

Limited edition, handmade by Annabelle, 18k gold or sterling silver plated olive branch sleepers with a gorgeous natural freshwater teardrop pearl or with 18k gold (1 micron) or sterling silver plated clip ons and a mother of pearl disc adornment. These earrings weigh around 20 grams in total, the weight varies slightly on each pair because of the irregular shapes and sizes of the freshwater pearls. They measure 4cm in length but can be gently bent to hang lower or higher. These are on PRE ORDER for the moment, delivery may take up to 6 weeks.

Limited edition, handmade by Annabelle hypoallergenic zamak ornate adornment earrings made in Menorca, electroplated in 0.5 microns of 18k gold or varnished with 10 microns of sterling silver plating with freshwater pearls. They have an 18k gold or sterling silver plated stud system for pierced ears, or you can order them as clip ons with 18k gold or sterling silver plated clips and a mother of pearl disc adornment. They measure 9cm in length and each earring weighs 13 grams, so they are heavier than my other earrings. Please note that due to the nature of the freshwater pearls, they may vary in size and shape.
Tanit is the Carthaginian goddess who has been worshiped on Ibiza since the Carthaginians settled there around 600BC. She is the deity of the moon, dance, creation, sexuality, fertility and war and even today thousands of people visit the Es Culleram Cave to pay their respects to her as the island´s inhabitants have been doing since ancient times. She is often depicted naked riding a lion or with her own lion´s mane. Many of the island´s visitors will tell you about Ibiza´s incredible energy and I felt it day in day out when I lived there for the Summer of 2009, there is so much more to this magical island than the nightlife.
Zamak is an alloy blend of zinc, aluminum, magnesium and copper which makes it suitable for sensitive skin types, very durable and great for silver and gold plating. These earring bases were made to order on the beautiful Belearic Island of Menorca by a family run studio that started back in 1945.

One off, vintage upcycled sterling silver plated (10 microns) clip-on earrings. They measure 4cm in length.
I´m always on the lookout for vintage pieces - vintage shopping is my favourite past time. I scored a whole bag of vintage things that were going to be thrown out from a fancy apartment my friend was rennovating in Barrio Salamanca in Madrid. I took this pairs off to be silver plated in the studio in Cordoba to see how they scrubbed up (big silver vintage earrings are so on trend right now!) and they came back shining beautifully. They´re one of kind and done up rescued landfill, which makes them all the more special!
Sanse is what people call San Sebastian for short. I included these 90´s vintage clip ons because they remind me of the old glamour you see walking around la Bahia de la Concha.

Limited edition, nude pink or natural straw one size fits all visors. They have a 14cm brim so they’re your perfect beach umbrella always sitting comfortably on your head. I wore mine non stop this summer, it was my face’s lifesaver from the Spanish sun. It’s cool and comfortable and has a band of lining at the top to absorb any moisture after you’ve had a swim.
Tui is a gorgeous town right on the border of Portugal and Galicia where we started the Portuguese route of el Camino de Santiago. It was settled back in pre historic times and its winding quaint stone streets are overflowing with Hydrangeas and relics. The border with Portugal is marked by el Río Miño, a mighty river perfect for a swim whose banks are lined with vineyards. You can stroll across its beautiful bridge to the Portuguese town Valença, which dates back to Roman times protected by a fort. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy my favourite Portuguese beer, Super Bock or a local white wine at sunset. It’s here many pilgrims start their journey to Santiago, the town is buzzing with excitement and anticipation to the journey ahead.
